Talent vs. Work

Talent is intimidating.  We all see those artists on social media that are incredibly talented.  We look at what they do and then at what we do and immediately feel inadequate.  While it's true that "comparison is the thief of joy", it is also true that much of "talent" is developed through work.  Take this brilliant quote:

"If people knew how hard I had to work to gain my mastery it wouldn't seem wonderful at all." Michelangelo

Sure, some people have a natural propensity towards some work over other work, however, another person's "talent" is just like starting a race is a better position than you.  You still have the ability to cross the finish line, you just start in a different spot.

Through work and dedication, nothing is impossible or out of your reach.

Keep in mind that even the "talented" won't be as successful if they don't put in the work.  The work is more important than the talent and the work is what you can control.

So, get to work and don't worry about your talented friends.  They might be incredible, but so are you!
